Seaside Nuptials Inspired by the Grooms blush pink suit.
The Chicago-based couple had two goals in mind for their wedding: to showcase the scenery of the Pacific Northwest as a nod to the bride’s roots, and to throw the fun celebration everyone deserved after a long pandemic. Semiahmoo Resort’s stunning scenery and proximity to prime day-trip locations like Vancouver and the San Juan Islands made it a perfect choice for their guests, some of whom came from as far away as Florida, where the groom is from. Once planning was underway, their vision came to life, with a focus on having a luxe, elegant and classy feel, while staying true to the casual vibes of a northwest summer evening. They chose elements which would feel abundant, which came through in the lush florals, the plated dinner with filet mignon and blackened halibut, three cake flavors, and the 6-piece Michael Benson Band led by Darelle Holden. Their colors were blush and navy, which were highlighted in the pink chargers and pink and blue watercolor napkins on the table from La Tavola, as well as the bridesmaids’ tulip-hemmed navy dresses. The couple kept the fun in their look, with a floaty and ethereal Randy Fenoli wedding gown paired with a pink Indochino suit for the groom that was a bit of serendipity: as the couple was starting to check out rentals and walking through a department store in Chicago, they saw a dark pink sportcoat and that was that. Going tie-free for the groom kept the casual, coastal tone. Florals were designed to be lush and full including installations on the hanging chandeliers, while signage was crisp with navy fonts on white. One of the couple’s favorite touches was the custom sign on the bar with 2 signature cocktails named after their rescue dogs: a spicy margarita named after their schnoodle Pepper, and a ginger beer based Moscow Mule honoring their Maltese and terrier mix Ginger. The party was capped off with LED glow sticks and heart shaped pink sunglasses on the dance floor, capping off the spectacular day.
