Your dog is
invited.
And honestly? They're my favorite part.
I'm Becca — Seattle-based wedding photographer, golden retriever mom to Maple, and a certified hype person with a camera. I have been shooting PNW weddings for 13 years, and I have to tell you: the weddings with dogs? Always in my top ten.

FOR THE COUPLE WHO SAID, “OBVIOUSLY OUR DOG IS COMING.”
Let's talk about your dog.
You're not looking for a photographer who will tolerate your dog. You're looking for one who will learn their name before the wedding, study their weird quirks, and use that intel to get a shot so good you'll print it the size of a dining room wall.
That's me. I have a golden retriever named Maple. I understand the assignment.
I've photographed dogs who knew brewery commands. Dogs who instinctively laid on the bride's train. Dogs who were flower girls, ring bearers, and — in one memorable case — the most emotionally stable member of the entire wedding party. The camera loves them. I love them. And your guests will lose their minds.
FROM THE FIELD
Real dogs. Real weddings.
Real magic.
The Brewery Dog
One of my couples were regulars at their local brewery — and somewhere along the way, their dog learned that the phrase "do you want to go to the bar?" meant something very exciting was about to happen.
On their wedding day, every single time we needed him to look at the camera: "Do you want to go to the bar?"
Worked every time. Not once did it fail. The dog was a professional.
Moral: I pay attention to the details that make your relationship yours — and use them to create magic.
The Mama’s Baby
This pup knew. All day long, she hovered close to her mom — the bride — watching, checking in, making absolutely sure no one was going anywhere without her. Sit? No. Lay down? Hard pass. Not until she was certain.
Then the reception started. The couple finally sat down. The room settled into its rhythm. And that sweet girl gave the most contented sigh you've ever heard, turned twice, and flopped down on the fluffy tulle of the bride's gown like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Because for her, it was.
Moral: Dogs always know. I'm just there to catch the moment when they finally relax.
Jackson & the Blanket
Mackenzie and John's dog Jackson had a habit — whenever they spread a blanket down on their outdoor adventures, he'd trot right over and lay down on it. Just what he did.
During portraits at Ray's Boathouse, I fluffed the bride's train across the dock. Jackson walked over, turned in a circle, and settled in like he'd been waiting for his close-up his entire life. Green bow tie and everything.
Not staged. Not trained for the wedding. I just knew — and I was ready.
Moral: The best moments can't be planned. I create the conditions for magic and then get out of the way.

"Jackson stole the show posing on the waterfront in his green bow tie… as bridal attendants fluffed the train of Mackenzie's gown, Jackson assumed it was a blanket and laid right down — just as he would on their outings together. Talk about a photo op!"

WHY IT WORKS
Your dog deserves
a photographer who gets it.
