Willows Lodge WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Woodinville, WA | B. Jones Photography
If Willows Lodge is on your venue shortlist, I have one thing to say: yes. Absolutely yes.
I've been photographing weddings at this property since 2016, and I've held a spot on their preferred vendor list for nearly a decade now. A few years back, Willows Lodge chose me as the only photographer to represent them at both the Woodinville Wedding Collective Showcase and the Weddings in Woodinville show — a dozen-plus weddings later, I still don't take that for granted.
Here's why I keep coming back excited every time: Willows Lodge doesn't try to be anything other than what it is — unmistakably Pacific Northwest, rustic and romantic at the same time. There's a burned-out tree trunk at the entrance unlike anything I've shot at any other venue — it reads editorial in a way that's distinctly Willows Lodge and nowhere else. Walk toward Barking Frog and the stucco exterior and garden path suddenly lean fully European. It's a property that gives you both moods without ever feeling like it's trying too hard.
What makes Willows Lodge so special for wedding photography
What makes Willows Lodge so special for wedding photography is genuine variety, all on one property. You've got warm garden light at the raised beds, deep woodland light by the root cluster, an editorial moment against a burned-out tree trunk unlike anything else in Woodinville, and a European-feeling courtyard by Barking Frog — all within a few minutes' walk of each other. Add a hidden riverside terrace almost no one else photographs, a ballroom built for your reception, and rooms sized for anything from a 10-person vow renewal to a full celebration, and you've got a venue that adapts to your day instead of the other way around. And because both your ceremony and reception spaces are already under cover, weather is never really a variable here.

Timing & Lighting at Willows Lodge
What I tell Every Couple
Plan your golden-hour portraits at the Willow tree for about an hour before sunset. This is the single best-timed shot on the property, and the light won't wait.
Midday isn't the enemy here. Between the raised garden beds and the magnolia tree, we've got real options even when the sun is high and harsh — a rare luxury compared to most venues.
Getting ready happens onsite. No early-morning drive to a separate location — a lot of couples turn that into an excuse to make the whole thing a wedding weekend instead of a single day.
What about a rainy day wedding at Willows Lodge?
Here's the good news: there's barely a decision to make. Your ceremony is always held under the garden gazebo, and your reception is almost always in the ballroom anyway — so the rain plan isn't really a plan at all. It's already built in.
Couples who get married at Willows Lodge
Willows Lodge attracts a specific kind of couple — and I mean that as the highest compliment. You're not chasing a wedding day, you're chasing a wedding weekend. You want your closest people around you the whole time, not just for the ceremony but for breakfast the next morning too. You're drawn to the laidback beauty of PNW wine country, and you'd rather your wedding feel relaxed and real than picture-perfect and stiff.
You're also, in my experience, exactly the kind of people I want to spend a weekend photographing. The Willows Lodge couples I've worked with don't need everything choreographed — they just want it to feel like them, surrounded by the people they love most. That's an easy room to be in.
PREFERRED SEASONS atWillows Lodge
Spring, summer, and fall are the favorites here, and most of my couples agree — but I've shot a bright, dry winter wedding on this property that was genuinely spectacular. Honestly? Year-round works.
What a Wedding Day at Willows Lodge looks like
with me behind the lens
I've been photographing weddings at this venue since 2016. I know which direction to position you at every hour of the day, which spots are best for which light, and how to move efficiently through the property so we hit everything without the day feeling rushed. Your timeline is finalized a month before your wedding — so by the time your day arrives, the plan is locked and you just show up.
My couples never have to figure out what to do or where to stand. I direct everything. And because I've photographed more than a dozen weddings here, and held a spot on the venue's own preferred vendor list for nearly a decade, I can anticipate moments before they happen and be in the right place when they do. Tricky lighting spots — like the Garden Gazebo or the Sammamish Ballroom — aren't a problem either: my team and I always come prepared with a full lighting setup, so even the venue's trickiest corners come out beautifully.
