Olympic Rooftop Pavilion Wedding Photos at the Hotel Ballard

This one is for the ballerina bride who loves pastels. The Olympic Rooftop Pavilion served as the perfect Seattle wedding venue for this ballet inspired editorial wedding. The color scheme was chosen by K. Hancock events and was the inspiration behind all of the floral & design choices. Our model, a former SeaGal, laced up her point shoes just for photos! The intimate reception table was festooned with pastel blooms and draped in tulle, muslin & silk linens. The couple did their photos in front of the floral & greenery ceremony background as well as outside next to the rooftop fireplace overlooking Ballard. The masculine black stone fireplace combined with the femininity of the whimsical floral arrangements created a stunning location for their bride & groom photos. I feel that these photos evoke joy & romance.

Seattle Ballet wedding inspiration

From Kiara at K. Hancock Events

When I first laid eyes upon “Serenity” and “Rose Quartz”, the dual Pantone Color of the Year for 2016, what immediately struck me was the soft, dreamy, and playful nature of both colors and how they complemented each other so beautifully. Being a dancer myself I was immediately reminded of that same airy nature in ballet.

I really wanted there to be a sense of fluidity and movement in everything for this shoot and the classically modern backdrop of the Olympic Rooftop Pavilion provided a perfect canvas to bring that vision to life. Their breezy open air patio gave the Sarah Seven gown from The Dress Theory the most ideal flowy and fluttery feel. Amy of Gather was able to encapsulate motion in her floaty, hanging, and free moving florals and to top it all off Becca of B. Jones Photography breathed life into the whole shoot with the way she effortlessly directed and shot our models.

As if the day wasn’t dreamy enough already, the highlight of our shoot was the fact that our beautiful bride, Bronwyn, just happened to be trained in ballet and, at out behest, brought her pointe shoes. Having the opportunity to watch her move in her gown was a thing of beauty and it brought the perfect amount of elegance and weightlessness to an already amazing shoot.

Katherine & David's

Nautical Tented Wedding on the Seattle Waterfront

The Woodmark Hotel

Woodmark Hotel Wedding - Katherine & david8.jpg

Katherine & David tied the knot at one of my favorite waterfront wedding venues in the greater Seattle area,

The Woodmark Hotel.

Absolutely thrilled to capture the magic of Katherine and her groom's unforgettable day at the Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland, WA! 📸 The timeless blush color palette they chose is an absolute dream and every shot is Pinterest-worthy perfection. 💖

The Woodmark Hotel's waterfront suite provided a stunning backdrop for the pre-wedding preparations, complete with matching blush and crisp white robes for the bridal party. Capturing those moments as Katherine stepped into her lace dress and the groom buttoned up his Indochino suit was a photographer's delight. And that first look on the grand staircase? Pure joy and romance captured in every frame.

Venturing over to the Carillon Point docks for bride and groom photos was a highlight, with sweeping views of Lake Washington creating a picturesque setting. The Woodmark Terrace Tent, where the ceremony took place, offered a perfect blend of elegance and natural beauty against the Pacific Northwest backdrop.

The real magic happened after the vows, with a champagne joyride on The Chris Craft II—a vintage wooden boat owned by the Woodmark. Gourmet appetizers, bubbly champagne, and the stunning views from the boat provided unique photographic opportunities that truly tell the story of their special day.

Returning to Carillon Point dock for the reception entrance was a dynamic moment to capture, leading to a delightful evening in the ballroom. The dessert bar, the first dance, parent dances, and the lively dance floor moments—all beautifully documented to create a visual narrative of their idyllic waterfront wedding.

In summary, it was an honor to photograph such a personalized and joyous celebration, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Cheers to Katherine and her groom, and here's to many more years of capturing the magic of love in the Pacific Northwest! 🥂📸
