Lairmont Manor Wedding Photographer | Bellingham, Wa
If you've found Lairmont Manor, you already have excellent taste. Tucked into the Edgemoor neighborhood just up the hill from Fairhaven village, this 1914 Italian Renaissance estate is one of the most distinctly beautiful wedding venues in the entire Pacific Northwest — and one I've had the privilege of photographing more times than I can count.
I'm not just saying that. My parents live two minutes from this property. I grew up knowing this place, and I've spent 13 years learning exactly how to make it sing on camera.
Here's everything you need to know about getting married — and photographed — at Lairmont Manor.
What makes
Lairmont Manor
so special for photography
Most venues give you one or two good backdrops. Lairmont gives you an entire editorial spread. The Italian Renaissance architecture — grand staircases, floor-to-ceiling windows, ornate wrought iron, original wood paneling — photographs like something out of a European film. The award-winning gardens are lush and layered, full of manicured hedges, bubbling fountains, and mature trees that create natural framing everywhere you look. And because the estate sits tucked away from the surrounding neighborhood, once you're inside the grounds you feel completely transported. Your guests will say it feels like the English countryside. Your photos will look like a fashion shoot in Tuscany.
The other thing that makes Lairmont exceptional photographically is its versatility across seasons and weather. Bellingham is PNW — rain is part of the deal. But Lairmont's indoor spaces are just as stunning as the gardens. The grand ballroom with its vaulted ceilings and stage, the formal dining room, the billiards room — these aren't just backup options. They're genuinely gorgeous spaces that produce different, moodier, more editorial images than the outdoor shots. A rainy Lairmont wedding isn't a consolation prize. It's a different kind of magic.

A few things I tell every couple booking Lairmont Manor
Take advantage of the full day. Exclusive venue access runs 10am to 10pm. That's a gift — use it. Summer sunsets in Bellingham don't happen until around 9pm, which means you have golden hour well into the evening. We'll build your timeline to make sure we catch it.
The indoor spaces aren't a backup — they're a feature. If you love the idea of moody, editorial, architectural photography, lean into the interior of the manor. The grand hall and ballroom produce images that are completely different from any outdoor farm or waterfront venue. They're stunning in their own right.
No travel fees. I grew up in Bellingham. My parents are still there. Every Lairmont Manor wedding is also an excuse to see my family, which means I never charge travel fees for Bellingham weddings. What you'd spend on travel costs goes straight back into your collection.
Your timeline is created when you book and finalized a month out, not the day of. I know this venue cold — which spaces get which light at which time of year, how long it takes to move from the fountain garden to the manor interior, where the bottlenecks happen during family photos. A month before your wedding we finalize your photography timeline together so you're not fielding questions during the final stretch. By the time your day arrives, the plan is locked. You just show up.
